Events begin Friday, October 29 with a scavenger hunt, Jack-O-Lantern lighting, and screening of the Disney movie “Coco”. Street parking is limited, but free parking will be available in the Winooski Parking Garage on Cascade Way all weekend.

The pumpkin carving contest will begin at 6 p.m. All pumpkin carving contest teams and individual contestants must register prior to October 20. Each entry will be judged based on the quality of the pumpkin, skill of carving, and overall look of the platform. Space is limited, so those who are interested are encouraged to register as soon as possible.

Saturday’s events include a full day of free, kid-friendly activities such as a scavenger hunt and arts & crafts.

A collaborative community mural sponsored by Winooski Strong will take place at 4 p.m. on October 30. The community is encouraged to be a part of this creation. Saturday’s events will end with a live DJ and lighting of the Jack-O-Lantern display.

Plans for Halloween Day include a live DJ and final lighting of the Jack-O-Lantern display.

With the exception of the pumpkin carving contest, all Halloween festivities are free to the community. We can help ensure this event remains free by donating in increments of five dollars, ten dollars, or twenty-five dollars.

Downtown Winooski is requesting volunteer assistance in order to make this event a success. Community members are needed for pumpkin picking and loading on Thursday, October 21 and Friday October 22. Those who are interested can reach out to info@downtownwinooski.org. Additionally, volunteers are needed for Jack-o-lantern unloading, setup, and lighting on October 29. A full list of volunteer opportunities and festivities can be found at downtownwinooski.org/halloween.
