In this project, we implement 14 sustainable civic infrastructure projects, one in each county of Vermont.

Have an idea for a project?

WHAT IS CIVIC INFRASTRUCTURE?

Civic infrastructure can be understood as the processes and practices that build trust in communities and bind us to one another — and it requires local news and information sources. Healthy democracies require reliable sources of local information and government accountability (as this pandemic has demonstrated). A strong civic infrastructure can produce measurable returns for the well-being of Vermonters and our communities.

Websites: Upgrade websites in ways that upgrade information sources but also provide ability to maintain locally.

Local news: Create or support local and hyper-local news platforms.

Other: All ideas are welcome that increase civic infrastructure and the ability for people to communicate, share ideas and engage with their local community.
